Warm Weather Fun & a Little Dirty Work

I don't know how your first day of spring was, but ours was waaaaaayyyyy colder than our last day of winter! However, things are beginning to warm up around here and what do you do in a beach community when things are heating up? Well, in my case its get the boat ready!

This is "Chum;" we got Chum last August. Let me give you a quick back story on the name. I have an obsession with "Finding Nemo," no one wants to watch the movie with me because I sit there and say every line with each character; its pretty bad (and I am so excited for "Finding Dory" on June 17th)! Anyway, Chum is the Mako Shark who "happens to misplace his friend (aka eats the fish)."

Anyway, it is time for some boat sprucing for us and maybe a decal of Chum on the front. Scout is ready to get her back in the water too!

It is also the time of year to be planting flowers and getting the grass up par since the weeds have begun to take over. Our appeal is pretty awful at the moment and that is about to change. The garden bed follows the walkway and surrounds the front patio and is about a foot and half to 2 feet in depth. This year we are adding curvature and more flowers. Last year we planted Evergreens and had some pretty purple things (I am not a gardener and have no clue what plants I buy). This year, since we are fixing it up to actually change the look we adding different elements for depth as well. The Evergreens will stay in the back along with my purple things. Tulips and Lilies will be added inbetween and in the front to bring a pop of color and different dimensions. We may add a small, colorful tree at the corner of the patio to help bring another element and perhaps some privacy down the road.

Some dimension such as this, is what we are looking for this year. Curb appeal doesn't mean you need to do a complete overhaul, just try to accent the exterior of your home and a little pop of color doesn't hurt either. Draw the eye to the best outdoor features of the home.

So, that is whats in store for me in the coming week. Be sure to continue to SCOUT it out with ME!
